A Large Spanish Chestnut Serving Table / Console

A large, striking 19th-century chestnut serving table, probably from northern Spain. The beautiful pale bleached top contrasts with the rich, deep chestnut of the base.

Intricate, Incised decorative borders frame the two wide drawers and divide each front into three panels. The drop handles have developed a fabulous natural green verdigris patina.

At just over two metres long and 67 cm deep, it has generous proportions for a serving table or a very impressive console.
