Primitive Mountain Pine Cupboard, c.1800

An honest vernacular pine cupboard from the Alpine region, dating from the late 18th century.

Constructed in solid pine, retaining the original, beautifully forged ironwork. The cupboard has practical storage with the straightforward traditional mountain craftsmanship. The decorative lock mechanisms, hand-forged hinges and original catches add to the complete authenticity of this piece.

Well proportioned , decorative and robustly constructed, this is a highly functional piece with a strong yet understated presence.
