English Deep Seated Country House Armchair , c.1900

A handsome, well made English country house armchair, dating from the late 19th century - generously proportioned, with a deep seat, scrolled arms and a supportive high back.

The chair is raised on finely turned walnut legs which have softened to a honey colour, with the original brass castors.

Recently re-upholstered using traditional methods and finished in a fire retardant wool cover - the chair is partially exposed to show the quality of the solid oak frame, including the original sprung seat and the traditional webbing.

The chair is now ready for a beautiful top cover fabric.
