Early 19th Century Spanish Walnut Side Table

A handsome piece of country furniture, well made , good scale and simple lines.

Made from solid walnut, the table has a thick two-plank top above a single deep drawer and stands on square legs joined by stretchers. Its simple construction, visible pegged joinery and substantial timbers are characteristic of rural Spanish furniture of the period.

The walnut has developed a rich, dark patina over many years of use, with the top retaining the wear, texture and colour developed over time.

A practical and highly decorative table, equally suited as a side table, lamp table or bedside table.
