An authentic Swedish Slagbord table from the Jämtland region of the country, close to the arctic circle.  The pale white of the wood is a result of the cold climate .

The base has the typical Swedish country furniture colour, faded to a timeworn patina.  The base is absolutely original to the top.  The drawers are deep and the gate-leg still works perfectly well. The ironwork hinges, hooks and catches are all as they were when the table was made..

This is an exceptional , original 18th Century piece with great character..
