A Superb English West Country Pitch Pine Dresser Base, c.1850

A superb mid-19th century West Country dresser base in pitch pine, with a beautifully worn original surface developed over many years of use.
The broad plank top has honest wear and a rich, deep patina with warm tobacco tones. The original textured , scumbled paint on the base is now a fabulous ox blood colour.
Lots of useful storage - three generous drawers, four panelled cupboard doors and internal shelving. It retains its original turned wooden knobs and period ironwork, all working as they should.
A handsome, substantial country house piece with scale and character.
