A Fine 19th Century Country Cupboard

A fine example of 19th-century country furniture, with strong, simple proportions and a remarkable surface acquired through generations of use.
The broad, overhanging plank top has a rich, burnished patina, its warm chestnut-brown tones broken by darker areas of wear, old marks and softened edges. Beneath are two drawers and a pair of panelled cupboard doors with aged iron hinges, turn catches and turned wooden knobs.
Substantial in construction, with beautifully worn surfaces, subtle irregularities and an incredible depth of colour.
An honest and handsome country cupboard, equally suited to a kitchen, hall or dining room.
