19th Century Italian Carrara Marble Table with Decorative Cast Iron Base

An elegant 19th century Italian Carrara marble table set on a scrolled, foliate cast iron base - in remarkable condition.

A slab of exceptionally fine marble - milky white, gently veined and aged. The chamfered edges have softened over the years.

The cast iron base is finely worked, with flowing scrolls and foliate detail - the vibrant orange makes it sing with colour, though now toned with age. The green of the benches against the orange is fabulous.

A composed and versatile piece — suitable as a small dining table, centre table, or for a hallway or garden room.
