19th Century Italian Alpine Pitch Pine Country Table with Incredible Colour

I love this table, the colour is exactly what I look for..

A 19th century country table from the Italian Alps, made in pitch pine, with a deep, rich colour and surface developed through generations of use.

The two-plank top has a remarkable depth of patina, ranging from golden amber and warm honey to darker shades of chestnut and old leather. The surface is marked by years of wear, with softened edges, old nail heads, scratches and variations in colour that give the timber its individuality.

Two generously proportioned drawers sit beneath the top, one with a brass ring pull. The simple, sturdy construction has square legs, substantial rails and a long central stretcher, typical of practical Alpine vernacular furniture.

An honest and beautifully proportioned country table, with a history of use written across its surface. Equally suited to a kitchen, dining room or as a generous console in a considered interior.
