18th Century Oak Vernacular Side Table, Circa 1760

An exceptional 18th century oak vernacular side table dating from around 1760.

Raised on four finely turned legs beneath an oval plank top and a decorative shaped apron, with perfect proportions, a wonderfully untouched surface and deep, rich colour throughout.

The table has a lightness not often found in vernacular furniture of the period - an elegant sculptural form gives it a presence beyond its size. The construction remains entirely original and strong.

Honest, unpretentious , practical and characterful, this is a particularly appealing example of early vernacular craftsmanship.

A genuine mid-18th century country table with remarkable warmth, surface and authenticity.

Dimensions: Oval Top 64cm x 56cm x Height 64cm
