An exceptional and astonishing, huge antique monastery table from France. The top is made of a single thick plank of walnut, there are no joins, just one plank which is 3.4mtrs in length.
Found in a large old farmhouse in rural France, the people I bought it from were “down sizing.”
The table was handed down through the generations, the walnut was perhaps originally from the nearby forest of walnut trees.
The rich colour , tones and aged patina are stunning. I know I’m waxing lyrical, but pieces like this that make my job so exciting and rewarding.
L340cm x W90cm x The top is 6cm deep.
