A Huge French Monastery Table - One Single Plank of Walnut

An exceptional and astonishing, huge antique monastery table from France.  The top is made of a single thick plank of walnut, there are no joins, just one plank which is 3.4mtrs in length.

Found in a large old farmhouse in rural France, the people I bought it from were "down sizing."

The table was handed down through the generations, the walnut was perhaps originally from the nearby forest of walnut trees.

The rich colour , tones and aged patina are stunning.  I know I'm waxing lyrical, but exciting pieces like this make my job so rewarding.
