Everything about this handsome 19th Century pine chest is just right. The rich, deep colour tones and patina of the original scumbled paint is wonderful.

The top is supported by the original iron hinges, the handles at each end are also original.  There are two inner (secret) drawers , which could have been used for storing candles at one point.

The chest is in a very solid condition.  It has good proportions… could be used as a storage box, but looks amazing as a console with a lamp on top.  I love it!
