The throne of the quiet man, the Irish Súgán chair! Súgán (Gaelic word for straw) chairs were found in the most traditional Irish homes, especially in rural parts where they would have been skilfully produced by a local craftsman.
The light colour of this chair is sublime, the soft worn edges, the rope seat. She has a few stories to tell.
